This project will develop an on-line continuous measurement giving real-time feedback on medium integrity. Current measures of MD shear stiffness generally use bench tests like the shear twist measures.

These methods require samples to be taken, prepared, and then tested. Because of the discrete nature of the corrugating process, it is very difficult to make adjustments to the corrugator on the run making routine process optimisation costly and time-consuming.
